First Bite: Franks Craft Beers Manila

We've seen the growth of gourmet burgers in Manila. There would be some that would charge as much as a grand for a thick and juicy patty and there would still be a market for it. But one category that seems to be not as saturated is gourmet hot dogs. Sure, we have the likes of Pink's which was well received when it opened in BGC but there are not a lot of establishments that offer fancy franks. And I was pleasantly surprised to discover a hidden gem tucked inside the casino of Resorts World Manila.

Hello, Franks!
Franks is one of the many signature restaurants of Resorts World Manila. Originally designed to cater to casino guests, it offers quick bites such as fries, nachos and hot dogs. But its delectable offerings were just too good to be bound inside the casino. Soon, patrons would drop by for some of their favorites to go and enjoy it with the whole family as they watch movies on the 4th floor or feast on it at home.
First timers here should try Franks' take on Pinoy Hot dogs. No, it's not the known bright red kind. It's a lot more interesting than that. Available in Bistek Tagalog, Chicken Inasal and Chicken Pork Adobo, these Pinoy Hot dogs are definitely something else.
Bistek Tagalog is bursting with onion, soy sauce and of course beefy flavors! Topped with bistek mayo, drizzled with calamansi and topped with onions, it's hard to confuse this with another Filipino dish.
I just came from a trip circling Visayas and I had more than a fair share indulging in Chicken Inasal. But that did not stop me from loving Franks' version of this popular Bacolod dish. Cooked with atsuete oil and topped with spring onions, garlic bits and atsara, each bite tickled my taste buds pink. It had that slight smokey taste which I love and I couldn't wait to have more!
Chicken and Pork Adobo probably had the lightest flavor and everyone agreed that it takes at least two bites for the flavor to sink in. Nonetheless, it was still pretty good and something worth checking out.
But if you want to play it safe, Franks also offer classic hot dog dressed with the usual toppings. I found the mustard to be a bit too strong though so you might want to have yours on the side.
If hot dogs are not enough to keep you full and running, Franks also offer sides which go perfectly well with your hot dog sandwich. Choose among French Fries (PHP50), Wedges (PHP55), Onion Rings (PHP55) or Chicken Tenders (PHP390, 6 pieces | PHP580, 9 pieces | PHP750, 12 pieces) or better yet, avail of Franks' combos which start at PHP290 (sets including Pinoy Hot dogs start at PHP370).
Let me go back to the Chicken Tenders. It is probably best in town! Crunchy breading and juicy chicken fillet, an order of this could be very filling. Best to request for honey mustard as they usually serve this with tartar sauce.
While you're at it, end your meal with Mango Graham (PHP75). And yes, I found this so much better than the ones you get in malls.
Overall, it was a nice meal. I could definitely see myself taking a quick detour to Resorts World Manila before heading to the airport or back home from my travels.
Franks is located at Ground Floor, Gaming Area, Resorts World Manila, Pasay City.
