Hello, Scout's Honor.
Scout's Honor is known for its artisan and create your own cookies. It has made a name for itself in the dessert category and it sure got a following too when it launched its savory dishes.
After checking out other options within Santolan Town Plaza, R and I decided to have a quick meal here before catching the Avengers: Endgame dinner time screening.
We went with Campfire Potatoes (PHP135), Tapsilog (PHP245) and Meatballs in Pomodoro Sauce (PHP265). We skipped trying the drinks as we want to avoid going to the loo during the long movie.
While waiting, we were given a cup of chips which reminded me of Pee Wee. It was a lovely touch and good snack to munch on to pass time while admiring Scout's Honor's cute interiors.
Twenty minutes went by and we followed up or order only to hear a surprise. Our orders were not punched in at all! I don't know what happened but I was so disappointed especially when we were in a rush to get back to the cinema floor. The restaurant manager took charge though and assured us that our orders will be served in 5-6 minutes. We decided to cancel our meatballs order as we actually got slightly full from the chips.
Our fries was served within the promised time but it lacked bacon bits. I'm not sure if it was because they were rushing. But I do hope that this was the case and that they don't shortchange their customers.
We were given the right order a minute later and it was actually a good starter (you could have cheese or cool ranch as sauce) and quite filling despite its small serving size.
My tapsilog was served soon after and it looked beautiful! I asked for vinegar after taking a bite and realized that the meat was a tad too salty for my liking. Turns out that the spiced vinegar should be served with the dish but it took 3 follow ups before we got ours and my sukiyaki-cut tapa was almost gone.
We actually asked for our bill too after the restaurant manager took our order and we had to follow it up about five or six times! Service was quite a nightmare that we just want to settle our bill and leave.
I wasn't able to get his name but our original server doesn't seem enthusiastic to assist us in any way. He was the one who took our order and didn't hand it to the counter. We also requested for spiced vinegar from him and the bill too but we had to ask someone else for it as well. We just laughed it off instead of being annoyed. But this is something Scout's Honor should check as it won't sit well with other customers.
Overall, food was good but service needs a lot of work. I love though that the restaurant manager took the lead and assisted us. I hope its Vertis North branch is better.
