Hello, Tipsy Pig.
Tipsy Pig started when Capitol Commons was still unheard of. It was challenging for a new player in the restobar industry to market itself when it's in a low traffic location. But its scrumptious dishes and bang for the buck drinks made it an easy favorite by the young ones and young at heart. And now, it is three branches strong!
I was invited by M to try some of Tipsy Pig's new offerings at its Bonifacio Global City branch. A feast of Vietnamese Salad (PHP220), Ginataang Munggo (PHP320), #SquashGoals (PHP320), Pan Seared Pompano (PHP1,150), Tipsy Sisig (PHP360) and Hoisin Pizza (PHP450) was waiting for me when I got there.
Foodies who wish to eat healthy or are calorie counters would enjoy Vietnamese Salad. This bowl made of cabbage, fried wonton, shredded chicken and other greens drizzled with fish sauce and lemon juice is a light dish perfect as an starter. The variety of textures and balance of salty and zesty flavors will surely whet your appetite.
I always consider Ginataang Munggo as comfort food. This grainy dish topped with lechon kawali and more pork skin was divine. An order comes with tinapa fried rice which serves as an excellent side as it complemented the coconut cream of this hearty dish.
Another new favorite was #SquashGoals. This Ginataang Kalabasa dish had that lovely sweet and savory taste that I absolutely love.
The shrimp bits were also fresh and added sweet hint of seafood which complemented the earthy flavor of spinach.
If you plan to drop by Tipsy Pig to enjoy a pint or two of beer, make sure to grab a sizzling plate of Tipsy Sisig. Crunchy in every bite, this chunky dish made with bagnet, poached egg and topped with calamansi aioli is addictive!
It may be a bit too savory for some so grab a cup of rice while you're at it.
Or have a bite of Hoisin Pizza instead. This chicken overload (soy chicken and chicken skin) pizza is good for two to three.
But if you plan to have a full meal here, grab its Pan Seared Pompano. This wide and flat fish had a mild flavor which is enhanced with the brown butter patis it is served with.
Tipsy Pig is located at Forbestown Road, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
