First Bite: Ça Va Crêperie & Floral Atelier

A quaint café caught my attention while strolling around Podium. Adorned with flowers and everything dainty, I convinced my friends that we check it out after our heavy afternoon snack.

Hello, Ça Va Crêperie & Floral Atelier.
It would be hard to miss Ça Va (pronounced sah-vah, French for "how are you doing?") with its prime spot at the Julia Vargas entrance of Podium Mall. Its warm ambiance and feminine vibe was like a strong magnet that lured us into its store.

Since we were not that hungry, we thought that having crepe and a few drinks would be a great idea.
We went with Four Ever Crepe (PHP350, +PHP60 for truffle paste) and Chicken Out (PHP580). For drinks, my friends went with its Handcrafted Juices (PHP85 each) while I went with hot Mocha (PHP165).
We noticed that the staff were not very proactive while we were there. There were not enough utensils for us and we had to call them a handful of times for it as they were all just behind the counter chitchatting. We did appreciate though that one of the staff mentioned that we could avail of its promo where we get a complimentary dessert crepe as our bill was over PHP1,500.

First served was our picturesque plate of four cheese crepe. Stuffed with mozzarella, Gruyere, Parmesan and cheddar, each forkful had this saltiness and tartness that I enjoy. The truffle paste complemented the crepe and added earthy notes in every bite.
The staff recommended Chicken Out which is good for sharing. And it is indeed a hefty dish. This platter of boneless chicken, fries and salad with sriracha mayo on the side was great! The chicken was beautifully battered, crisp yet juicy.
Each one was flavorful too and didn't need the dip for that extra flavor. The salad had light dressing too which balanced the flavor of the chicken.
My cup of mocha was good too. The taste of coffee was evident and it blended so well with chocolate giving it that delightful sweet flavor. It was also great with the savory dishes we had.
My friends also liked Ça Va's handcrafted juices. The Sakura Cooler sure is pretty!
Overall, food was great but service was below average. The staff lacked attentiveness and my friends noticed that they rarely smile too. We also didn't get our free crepe. Plus, the salad wasn't thoroughly washed as my portion had a bug in it. At least it's organic. But I'll still go back for more of its savory crepes! It's that good!

Ça Va Crêperie & Floral Atelier is located at Ground Floor, Podium Mall, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
