Kapitolyo used to be my neighborhood back when it was the hottest foodie spot in Manila. I'd go around the area on weekends and check out the newest shops. And more often than not, I'd be heading back home with a happy tummy and several new favorites. And one of which was Epic Cafè.
Hello, Epic Cafè.
Epic Cafè has been around for years now and continue to serve good tasting beverages and comfort dishes. Its warm and inviting space also makes this coffee shop an ideal spot for catching up with friends or work.
Since I just had a heavy meal before stopping by, I went with a hot cup of Matcha (PHP140) and shared a slice of cheesecake with some friends.
The place wasn't full when we dropped by so we quickly got our orders. I was expecting my drink to be a bit big given its price but I was given this small paper cup instead. Nonetheless, it was one good matcha.
The green tea taste was pronounced and it had that nice bitter flavor I love. It even had that slight grainy texture I enjoy.
It went beautifully well with the cheesecake which seemed to be from Poco Deli. I read that most of its dishes also come from the neighborhood restaurant known for bacon slab and sausages. It may be true since I didn't really see a kitchen window during my visit. Or I might have just missed it.
I really hope this shop opens another branch in Quezon City as I rarely visit Kapitolyo nowadays.
Epic Cafè is located at 102 East Capitol Drive Corner Santa Rosa Street, Kapitolyo, Pasig City.
