First Bite: Sundays by Merry Moo

Summer may have been long over but the intense Manila heat is here to stay. And there's no better way to keep cool than with a scoop or two of ice cream. But why stop there when you can have three and a yummy waffle bowl to eat it with?

Hello, Sundays by Merry Moo.
Merry Moo is one of the homegrown ice cream brands I love. Its fun and innovative flavors keep it relevant especially with today's discerning market.
We were invited to a tasting session a few weekends ago and got to try its flavored waffle bowls (also available in cones version).
You get three scoops of ice cream when you get a waffle bowl which starts at PHP245 depending on the flavors you choose.
I got Sea Salt Caramel, Cheesy Mamon and Berry Cheesecake to go with my Green Tea Waffle Bowl. I also topped it with candied pecans.
The Sea Salt Caramel flavor was lighter than I remember. The contrast between salty and sweet flavors was a bit faint but I love that it was not cloying at all.
Berry Cheesecake was one chunky flavor. My scoop had big cheesecake bits! I found this a bit heavy for dessert. It may be a bit more apt as an afternoon snack.

My new favorite is Cheesy Mamon. Its flavor was light too and I was surprised to get a bite of actual mamon! It sure was interesting and I'd love to have this again.
I didn't get Avocado but I got some from my friend and... it was so good! The avocado taste was pronounced and it was so creamy. Definitely one of the best I've had to date.

And I'm happy to share that the Green Tea Waffle isn't just green. It tastes like matcha too. The one I got had that slight bitter taste which beautifully complemented the sweet flavor of ice cream. Do note though that the waffle's taste tends to be overpowered by ice cream; so take time to enjoy the waffle alone or choose light flavored ice cream.
Do also try Sundays' soft serve ice cream. We sampled Roasted Polvoron which tasted just like pastillas. Consistency was smooth and it was creamy in every bite (uh, lick?)!
I'll surely be back for more of its avocado, cheesy mamon and roasted polvoron!
