When in El Nido: The Red Crab Alimango House

After days of swimming, snorkeling and climbing in Apulit and Miniloc, R and I were looking forward to finally relax at Lio, El Nido. Just thinking about lounging on its long shore and enjoying the area's chill vibe made us excited. But another thing made us giddy to spend a few days in this newly developed area... and that was to feast on good seafood.

Hello, The Red Crab Alimango House.
The Red Crab Alimango House opened in Lio Estate just last April and it's one of the best places to dine in the area.
Its colorful interiors and eye-catching bold red highlights made it easy for us to spot it from a distance.
We started our meal with Palawan Baked Mussels (PHP295) which was flavorful in every bite.
In fact, I wouldn't mind having this with rice!
I was drooling to have more of its Lio Exclusive Pulpo Pasta (PHP325) which I fell in love with during the preview in Manila.
And it was just as good! Generous creamy sauce on al dente pasta topped with perfectly charred octopus, this dish was superb!
We also got Crab Bee Hoon (PHP299 per 100g). I loved that the crab had this lovely sweet taste to it proving that it was fresh.
We were surprised when one of the staff offered to crack the shell for us. It definitely made it easier for us to enjoy this dish.
Protein lovers would enjoy the platter of Grilled Tuna Steak (PHP495). Juicy and beautifully seasoned, I could have this dish for days! It's one healthy dish you shouldn't miss. (Just skip the fries or give it to me.)

To cap our meal, we had Halo-Halo (PHP299) which saved us from melting. It was ridiculously hot when we visited and this cold treat was calling us from the start.
Served on a coconut topped with the classic halo-halo ingredients and ube ice cream, one order can be shared by two or three at most.
We also tried one of Red Crab's cocktails and sangria and both were great! Priced around PHP250-300, it wasn't bad at all!

I really hope that the Red Crab Lio Exclusives will be available in Manila soon. Or I might have to fly back to El Nido for my favorite Pulpo Pasta.

The Red Crab Alimango House is located at UD Shop 9, Lio Tourism Estate | Brgy. Villa Libertad, El Nido, Palawan.
