First Bite: Aperitif

I've been dying to visit Aperitif after hearing and reading a lot of positive reviews from friends. And last Christmas, I finally got to drop by to try its popular Triple Layer Chocolate Fudge Cake.

Hello, Aperitif.
Aperitif gained popularity selling graze boxes online. As the perfect present for all kinds of occasions, it grew its market base and even had corporate clients. And last year, it finally decided to open its own store in SM Aura.
The store is quite small with only a few bar stools to sit on from inside but with a couple more outside. The table inside though doesn't get cleared right away. And when we went, it was a sticky mess.
Since we were full from lunch, we just went for Gelato Fleur (PHP220) and Triple Layer Chocolate Fudge Cake (PHP650, 4" | PHP850, 6" | PHP1,250, 8").
My shobe chose Cappuccino and French Vanilla as flavors for her flower gelato. Both flavors were creamy but Cappuccino was far better than French Vanilla in terms of taste. But neither had wow factor or something special for me to want more.
I was so excited to try the chocolate fudge cake as it has been raved by several foodies. And with its steep price, I was expecting to taste happiness in one bite.
It was indeed rich and very moist. One bite would give you a burst of premium chocolate.
What sets this apart from all those chocolate fudge cake in cans is that the case or shell of Aperitif's treat is edible and just as good. The edible Belgian chocolate shell is rather thick and assures you that you won't be left with a melted disaster.

What adds luxury to this dessert is that it is dashed with edible 24K gold. Definitely an exquisite way to end a meal.
But is it worth the price? I guess. This piece of heaven did not scrimp on the finest ingredients. I initially thought that I wasn't getting my money's worth but its bold flavor made the cake last for days! One thing's for sure though, I'm skipping its gelato
Aperitif is located at 4th Floor, SM Aura Premier, C5 Road Corner 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
