Hello, Ippudo.
One of the things I love about Ippudo is its impressive service. I used to frequent its Uptown Bonifacio branch and the staff never fail to give me a pleasant dining experience. And I'm glad that same is true with its Ayala Malls Vertis North store.
Before handing the menu, the staff asked if it was our first time in the store. I guess they would have a spiel for first-timers? After saying no, we were left for a while and another staff was back asking if we were ready to order.
I went with Shiromaru Tamago (PHP420) while R went with Shiromaru Special (PHP495). We also had Torched Salmon Roll (PHP299) as side order.
Service was fast and we got our orders within 10 minutes.
Presentation of the ramen was a bit sloppy as the ingredients seemed to have just been dumped in the bowl. But it was still as yummy as I remember.
The chasu was thick and succulent which went beautifully well with the thin and firm noodles. I also loved the generous serving of seaweed and beansprouts which added crunch.
R's Shiromaru Special was very similar to mine as it no longer had pork belly. We were told that it was replaced with a much bigger and torched chasu. But the one served to us didn't look torched at all. We were too hungry though to notice at first and realized it when editing photos.
It was R's first time to try one of Ippudo's rolls and he instantly liked the torched salmon roll. An order could be very filling so best to share this with someone if you plan to have this with a bowl of ramen.
Oh, and I just discovered Ippudo's bag basket! Each chair has a basket underneath so that you can sit and dine comfortably without worrying about your bag. (Or maybe I just forgot about this?)
I'll definitely be back for more!
Ippudo has multiple branches in Metro Manila.
