Love at First Bite: Papas

POTATO. Think of Gru's minions saying this word and you'd get an idea on how crazy I am with anything made with potatoes. And when I spotted this kiosk that sells fresh fried potato chips, I just have to give it a try. 

Hello, Papas!

I was walking around the south side of SM Mall of Asia looking for something to snack on while waiting for a friend when I saw this unfamiliar kiosk. The first thing I noticed were the cone containers on the counter which I figured would be for some small bites. And to my delight, it was for potato chips! I love potato chips!

Available in three sizes, Niño (Small), Medio (Medium) and Enorme (Large), price starts at PHP45 and its most expensive large variant costs PHP125 (for Salted Egg, Milk Chocolate and Wild Honey flavors). 

I played it safe and went with one of the classic flavors, BBQ and just got small since I didn't want to spoil my appetite for lunch. 

Since the potatoes are sliced upon placing your order, wait time for your snack would take about 5 minutes minimum. I was lucky as I was the only customer when I passed by so my order was prepared right away. 

Crisp, warm and generously topped with BBQ powder, my snack worth PHP45 was not bad at all! In fact, it made me regret not getting Medio or Enorme.

It's also an excellent movie snack! 

I'll definitely grab a cone or two again soon and try the other flavors.
