The 2012 List

Pessimists say that 2012 is the end of the world but optimists like me think that this is the year full of food, laughter, and just about anything that would make you think of double rainbow (remember that YouTube video?).

Every year, I plan my New Year’s Goals similar to a bucket list but with a shorter time frame. It thrills me every time I get to cross out some of the goals. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to accomplish a lot last 2011. I only managed to get rid of about 5 or 6 only from my list of 25. But this year, I am more determined to cross out at least half of what I will be mentioning below.

MORE KALESA RIDES
Ever since my first ever ride last November, I can’t help but gush for more! This means more Binondo and Intramuros trips too. I hope to get to ride it 20 times this year!

EAT AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT EXOTIC DISHES
I failed to eat lamb parts last time I went on an exotic food trip. I will not give up and visit Manila again for exotic dishes. I have already crossed out uok (larva of beetles), frogs, crickets, turtle and crocodile.

WATCH THE DISNEYLAND FIREWORKS
I think this is the most magical moment… ever.

TRY ALL THE RESTAURANTS IN BRGY. KAPITOLYO AND TEACHERS VILLAGE
These two places are turning into foodie paradise. With more and more restaurants popping left and right, I just have to visit all of these restaurants before it becomes unmanageable.

MUSEUM HOPPING
My friends and I have been meaning to do a museum hopping trip but always gets cancelled because of more important things (*ahem* food trips). This year, I promise to at least visit the National Museum, Museo Pambata and Trick Art Museum (is it really a museum?).

VISIT SEOUL AGAIN
I wanted to visit Korea again during Spring but I realized that I do not really care as I am just excited to be back to eat more samgyeopsal, bulgogi, street food, Korean ice cream all while shopping at Myeongdong and Dongdaemum with my good friends. Plus spend the night sipping coffee at oh so cute cafés.

GET A PERM

I’ve always wanted to have wavy hair. I guess the saying, “people want what they do not have” is somehow true. I can’t wait for summer!

LEARN NEW THINGS
I have always wanted to learn how to drive so that I could explore more. I want to learn how to cook so that I could survive if I decide to move out. I want to learn how to bake simply because I love sweets. These are the three things I have always been putting off but I hope that this year is the year for me to learn these.

WATCH AT LEAST 3 PLAYS OR SHOWS THIS YEAR
Plays are still better than movies for me. Yes, tickets are pricier but the experience is so much better. I remember telling my sister, “if I get to meet Lea Salonga, I’ll be so happy.” It was such a random outburst but if I do get to see her in person, this 2012 will be the best year (yet)!

VISIT A NEW PLACE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK

It need not be far as long as it is a place I have never been to and serves food. (The latter part is very important.)

GO FISHING
I tried fishing in Cebu and I enjoyed it so much. I actually caught a fish but I… panicked and the fish managed to escape. Next time, no mercy to the fish! Mwahahahaha!

BLOG MORE
More Curious George moments :)

2012 is a leap year and I plan to have at least 300 entries. *crossing my fingers*

  4. When we visited the National Museum last year, there was no entrance fee because of the on going renovations. I highly suggest passing by. The spolarioum for me was worth it already. =)
