ECQ Food Delivery: Bowl'd

While many sharpen their culinary skills during the lockdown, I heavily relied on food deliveries. And I was so happy that the list of restaurants offering food deliveries grow each day. A new addition to my list is Bowl'd.

Hello, Bowl'd.
Bowl'd has been around since 2018 and was a favorite by budget-conscious foodies. With its rice bowls priced under PHP200, it's hard for anyone to go wrong.
Just last week, Bowl'd opened its doors again to offer pick-up and delivery of its select items. As a Bowl'd newbie, I had a hard time deciding which one to get. So I ended up trying five rice bowls-- Nasi Lemanok (PHP135), Herbibowl (PHP135), Bok Bok B. (PHP179), Hiponista  (PHP179), and Pork O'Cluck (PHP179).
My orders arrived via Grab Express and everything was in tip-top shape. Each bowl looked pretty and filled with a generous serving of fluffy white rice.
Nasi Lemanok is topped with chicken karaage, fried anchovies, and hard-boiled egg. The chicken wasn't crispy anymore but it was flavorful!
It was beautifully spiced and complemented by the crunchy anchovies and egg.
If you want something light, Herbibowl is a great option. Just as its name implies, this rice bowl has no meat and is topped with Sriracha tofu, butter broccoli, and egg. I found the serving of toppings though a bit stingy so I'd stick with Nasi Lemanok which is more bang for the buck.
Bok Bok B. is the total opposite of Herbibowl. Topped with grilled chicken with gravy, braised pork belly, and butter broccoli, this is a nice balance of meats and a touch of greens.
Another chicken and pork rice bowl combo is Pork O'Cluck which is topped with sweet and sour pork, shrimp paste chicken karaage, and garlic vegetables. The elements are the same as Bok Bok B. but this bowl has sharper contrast in flavors.
If seafood is more of your preference, Hiponista is your best bet. This rice bowl comes with garlic butter shrimp, braised egg tofu, and butter broccoli. I found it a bit light in flavor though. Best to add a dash of salt or garlic powder for extra taste.
Other available rice bowls for pick-up or delivery are Fowl Play (PHP135) and Deja Moo (PHP135).
Bowl'd is open from 11 am to 5 pm daily. To order, call them at (8)638 3011. Payment options available are GCash, online bank transfer, and cash on delivery. Bowl'd will reach out once your orders are available and ready for pick-up by your preferred courier or curbside pick-up from its Podium store. For details, you may follow Bowl'd here

Disclosure: Bowl'd sent me rice bowls to try and experience their take out service. I have written this article based on my experience and preferences.
