Is FRNK Milk Bar More Than Just A Pretty Shop?

Instagrammable. That word has been the focus of most food and drink establishments and sadly, fail to deliver what's really important... taste. This is the reason why I often avoid pretty food and colorful drinks. I'm always scared of getting duped by its beautiful appearance and leave my taste buds miserable. But when most of my friends say that this new hipster drink brand offers nothing but goodness, I just have to give in to try FRNK Milk Bar.

Hello, FRNK Milk Bar
FRNK Milk Bar is one of celebrity Isabelle Daza's business ventures. And just like all the other brands she's involved with, FRNK is a beauty in all aspects of marketing. All of FRNK's drinks are worthy to be part of anyone's Instagram with its sleek presentation.
As much as I would love to try its bestsellers, I wouldn't dare go to Makati just for a drink. And thankfully, FRNK opened a branch along High Street, BGC. But I had to wait for a few more weeks before visiting as the queue could get pretty long as well.
I finally got to visit its cutesy shop last holiday when I spotted it with a short line.
I love that they have printed menu boards for people to check so that they would be ready by the time they get to the counter. There's also a priority lane for seniors, PWD and pregnant women.
I went with Maccha Lava Chizu (PHP115 | PHP145) which is one of FRNK's bestsellers. I also settled with tall as its short size is really... short.
Though the queue to order and pay wasn't long, I had to wait for about 15 minutes for my drink to be ready as some of the other customers before me ordered a handful. It was fine though as the weather was nice and I wasn't under the sun being cooked like bacon slab. And I enjoyed watching the staff whisking tea and preparing pretty drinks.
"Maccha Lava Chizu for Mary!"
I love that my drink had that lovely grainy texture from the hand-whisked Uji Kyoto matcha. The tea taste was pronounced which made me happy! I'm not sure what "blue tea" should taste like but the pearls and mochi tasted just like your usual plain ones. The pearls were small and reminded me of tapioca you get from taho. The mochi was a nice touch as it added more bite! It also still had that powdery texture.
My drink's description says that there is a cheese cap but I wasn't really able to taste it that much though I did get a hint of cream. And don't ask me about dark sugar. I'm guessing that's a fancy term for brown sugar
Though the drink may be a bit expensive compared to other similar concepts, I liked that this one had a more balanced tea flavor. I'll definitely be back and try customizing my drink into a healthier version.
FRNK Milk Bar is located at Pop-Up Street Bonifacio High Street Central, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
