Restaurant Favorite: Mama Lou's

Dining out could be overwhelming these days with the crazy number of restaurants to choose from. But when I'm tasked to choose a place to host our office guests, I stick with the ones I love or highly recommend. And last week, I picked one of my favorites for dinner.

Hello, Mama Lou's.
Mama Lou's has been one of my favorites since 2017. Just one bite of its delectable Mushroom Chicharon would win anyone over!
We visited its Ayala Malls Vertis North last week for dinner with one of our business suppliers and got Mushroom Chicharon (PHP180), Lucio's Truffle Pasta (PHP350), Half and half of Pizza Bianca (PHP325, 12" | PHP425, 14") and Prosciutto Funghi (PHP325, 12" | PHP425, 14") and Risotto di Mare (PHP425). For drinks, we went with a pitcher of Mama Lou's Iced Tea (PHP250).

Service was pretty fast despite the place being busy.
Our pitcher of iced tea was served within 5 minutes and all dishes were on the table 10 minutes after.
The plate of mushroom chicharon, as always, was delightful. Crunchy with a light snap from the oyster mushroom then dipped in what reminds me of crispy pata sauce, it serves as the perfect starter!
Lucio's Truffle Pasta may look plain and boring but this dish is worth checking out especially if you love truffle. Each bite has a pronounced taste of truffle yet not overpowering. Needless to say, I found a new favorite.
Mama Lou's pizzas never disappoint. Its Pizza Bianca topped with cream, mozzarella, mushroom and bacon has that light yet savory taste that would make you want more. The prosciutto lover in me was happy with Prosciutto Funghi. Though it would have been better if the prosciutto bit has more flavor to it as it didn't really gave my slice that nice salty taste. Do drizzle some spicy honey though for contrast.

And to make our meal a bit more filling as Mama Lou's pizzas are thin crust, we had Risotto di Mare to make our dinner heavier.
The risotto had this nice tangy taste from the fresh tomato sauce which was beautifully complemented by the brininess of the mixed seafood. However, R found the scallops a bit too fishy for his liking.

Overall, it was a lovely dinner. We were promptly assisted and our orders were quickly served. And the best part is that it is part of Zomato Gold! I can't wait to go back for more of my favorites.

Mama Lou's is located at Ground Floor, Ayala Malls Vertis North, Quezon City.
