Filipino food always have a special place in my heart and tummy. I'd often find myself craving for bulalo, sinigang or adobo. And one of the best places I know that offers good sinigang is Sentro 1771. But this Filipino restaurant offers more than just Sinigang na Corned Beef.
Hello, Sentro 1771.
It has been a while since I last visited Sentro 1771 and I was glad that the dishes I love are still available and there are a few new items worth checking out.

Love at First Bite: Kanto Freestyle Breakfast
Whenever people find out that I am a foodie,
most ask me if I have been to Kanto Freestyle Breakfast. The place seems to be
very popular to yuppies and almost all of my colleagues know Kanto. And when I
went for the first time, I realized why it’s such a hit.
Hello, Kanto Freestyle Breakfast!
The branch
near my office is located in a dark street making it a bit scary if you’re
going alone. (It’s best to come as a group if you want to visit at night.)
The place
was slightly packed (considering that it was a Wednesday night) but my
colleagues and I easily got a table for three.
The first
thing that I noticed when I saw the menu was its super affordable food! No
wonder people love this place! I ended up ordering: Tinapang Galunggong (PHP95), Ham
and Cheese Omelette (PHP70), Grilled
Buttered Suman with Ube, White Chocolate and Goya Ganache (PHP75) and extra bacon (PHP25) simply because bacon
is LOVE.

Restaurant Love: Sentro 1771
I usually skip Filipino restaurants when I
eat out as it’s the only cuisine I could prepare at home. If I were to choose,
I would always pick Japanese
as salmon
sashimi is L-O-V-E. However, when I’m out with family, I have to take into
consideration their preferences. They love Filipino and American food the most.
So, a few Sundays ago, after having a lechon
feast, we decided to visit Sentro 1771.
Hello, Sentro 1771.
A good
friend of mine told me that Sentro 1771 serves really good food and that made
me curious about the restaurant. I was supposed to visit the place last Halloween
with my UA&P food buddies but since we were still full from our SpƤtzle
dinner, we decided to go to Starbucks
instead. (Silent boo.)
The place
looked full when we visited but we were lucky as we got a table on the second
floor.
Since we were
famished, we ordered the following: Fresh
Smoked Fish Spring Rolls (PHP280), Rated
GG (PHP295), Camote Cups
(PHP240), and Sinigang na Corned Beef
(PHP595).
First served
were the Fresh Smoked Fish Spring
Rolls.
