Motherhood Diaries: WaterWipes

From a distant future to nine months, then a few weeks, and now, days, I can't believe that I'll be seeing my little one soon. I have to be honest, I never saw myself as mommy material. But things changed as soon as I found out that I'm pregnant and that I'll be a mom. I became diligent in reading the ingredients list as well as familiarizing myself with the chemicals to avoid, a habit I only got to build after seeing two lines twice! I now think of my baby, who is solely dependent on me. Thankfully, several brands in the market meet my plan to stick with all-natural products. And a new addition to my baby bag is WaterWipes.

Hello, WaterWipes.

WaterWipes was born out of a father's passion for his daughter.

Edward McCloskey had a hard time finding baby wipes for his daughter's sensitive skin. And after tirelessly searching and failing to find one that does not contain chemicals or other harsh ingredients, he decided to create one himself! And he came up with WaterWipes, the purest baby wipes in the world.

Made with 99% water and a drop of grapefruit extract, WaterWipes has been recommended by 97% of midwives (according to a 2014 study) and is the only baby wipe brand approved by Skin Health Alliance, Allergy UK, and the French Association for the Prevention of Allergies. WaterWipes also got the National Eczema Association of America's seal of acceptance.

Sure, there's also the option of using reusable cotton wool and water especially when one's just at home. It's a lot more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly. However, you don't get to eliminate the impurities of the water and cotton wool you use. Whereas WaterWipes undergo a 7-step purification process and removes all impurities and purifies water.

Though WaterWipes is not flushable and does not disintegrate in a flash to make it 100% environmentally-friendly, the brand has been working on this. It aims to find a solution, without sacrificing its product quality, by the end of 2020.

While Sam's still a few days away from making her debut, I tried WaterWipes on myself. And I loved it.

I instantly fell in love with WaterWipes! Aside from its smooth and soft texture, its mild scent was a winner for me. Strongly scented products worry me as I see perfume as a chemical we could skip and live without.

The wipes did the job of cleaning my hands after doing a quick food shoot. And I liked that each wipe is thick and durable, making it perfect for those nappy changes!

I still do not know if my little Sam will have sensitive skin. But having WaterWipes in my arsenal of baby products gives me a sense of relief.

This product is also perfect for removing make-up, cleaning surfaces, and other items. And I'd say the best product for those who have skin allergies.

I'm so glad that WaterWipes is now available in the Philippines. You can conveniently get your stash from Lazada, Shopee, and select baby boutique stores.
