LeTAO Holiday Treats

LeTAO is one of the most talked about brands last year when it opened its first pop-up store in Uptown Bonifacio. Focusing on one product, Fromage Double Cheesecake, it successfully captured the local market's attention. Teased with gorgeous photos followed by mouthwatering write ups, foodies around the metro got curious. However, many took a step back after finding that one 6" cake costs PHP1,150. Fast forward to December 2017, LeTAO Philippines now offers more of the well-loved Japanese brand and it came just in time for Christmas.

Hello, LeTAO
I was first acquainted with LeTAO during my trip to Taiwan. I got its famous Fromage Double Cheesecake at almost the same price in Manila.
One bite of this famous cheesecake would make you realize why it warrants a premium price. You couldn't deny that it uses top quality ingredients. The rich milky taste of the cheesecake was divine and its slight sweetness made it the perfect treat to cap one's meal. The soft texture also makes it distinct from other cheesecakes around.
For Christmas, LeTAO brings its some of its bestselling treats to Manila.

Gra Maalu (PHP950, one flavor | PHP1,150, assorted) comes in two flavors, Nutty Nutty and Berry Berry. Both are made with oat granola and feuillantine (thin-crushed crepe) redefining how we enjoy a crunchy sweet treat.
The feuillantine's crunch is complemented by small-puffed wheat and three types of almonds to give it richer flavor and more complex texture with each bite.
Berry Berry on the other hand uses white chocolate with raspberry and freeze-dried strawberry chips giving it a lovely tangy yet sweet taste.
But if you want something with a stronger berry flavor, I highly recommend Petit Chocolat Strawberry (PHP685, 50 grams).
The frozen-dried strawberries covered in white chocolate would tickle your palate pink with its defined berry taste.
Thé Noir (PHP650, 10 pcs | PHP1,250, 20 pcs) was love at first bite.
The velvety chocolate filling infused with Darjeeling tea gave it a rich and slightly dark flavor.
If I were to choose only one treat among the three, I would definitely go with Thé Noir.
