Hello, Marquis!
Marquis is the newest events place in Bonifacio Global City and it is designed to impress and inspire.
I was greeted by a 7-meter high ceiling and courteous staff who ushered me to the grand hall where the exclusive sneak preview took place.
The well-thought of event showcased different set-ups-- kiddie party, 18th birthday celebration, wedding, Great Gatsby-themed prom, socials night and business conference.
I have to admit, I loved each one with the most colorful one (children's party) as my favorite because it serves fries, popcorn and ice cream.
I swooned over the wedding set up which also showcased some of Vera Wang's creations. The all-white ensemble made me dream of my own big day. And to think that I'm not that type of person, I must have been charmed by Marquis.
Aside from the spacious and elegant space, Marquis also takes pride on its stellar dishes. And we were lucky to be among the first to sample it. Here are some of my favorites:
I went to raviolli heaven with the divine Scallop Raviolo. Stuffed with spinach ricotta and wild mushroom then covered with a scrumptious blanket of Porcini Mushroom with Truffle, this dish will surely haunt (in a good way) my dreams for months! If you love truffle, then you'd surely love this dish.
If you want something light, Marquis offers delectable hors d'oeuvres perfect for cocktail events. I liked the Smoked Salmon, Dill and Chevre the most.
Marquis is also the perfect venue for cheese lovers with its good selection of cheeses and dried fruits to complement it.
The Yellow Pepper Froth soup is a great starter for any event. The combination of chorizo Iberico and vegetable macedoine topped with a spoonful of froth will whet your appetite for mains. It was a tad too salty for me but everyone else loved it.
Health conscious guests will definitely enjoy Quinoa with Zucchini and Grilled Chicken Pistou. Its complex textures and light flavor will leave you wanting for more.
For mains, I sampled the Chilean Sea Bass and Braised Angus Beef Blade.
Both were filling and rich in flavor. But I liked the angus beef more than the sea bass as the latter was too spicy for my liking.
The beef on the other hand was so succulent. I tried to get a piece without much sauce and it was still flavorful. Eat it with mushrooms for extra texture.
For dessert, I tried the Strawberry Cremeux and one bite made me realize that I should have gotten two. It was no wonder why this dessert easily gets wiped out. It was delicious! The chiffon base was so soft and the soft delicate pudding on top with a slice of strawberry was fantastic. If Marquis decides to open a bakery in the future, I'd definitely get this one!
Marquis has 10 different venue halls to cater to various functions and events. The smallest set up it can accommodate is 43 guests and its biggest hall with many as 1,500 for grand events. They also have packages for all kinds of occasions and even offer assistance in event styling, entertainment, floral arrangements, and specialty lighting making Marquis a one-stop shop.
