A Cheesy Affair: Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory

2016 seems to be the year of Japanese food brands. Many anticipated the opening of Pablo and even lined up for it for hours! Now that Pablo is a thing of the past for some, others are now looking forward to Bake and LeTAO. But before that, there was another Japanese brand that turned foodies into cheese fanatics. Yes, I’m talking about Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory. This brand, despite making the wallet scream, received a warm welcome from the market.
Hello, Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory!
I visited the SM Megamall branch before dropping by the newly opened Le Petit SoufflĂ©.
Since I was there quite early on a weekday, there was no line at all. And I was extra lucky when I found out that all flavors were available. Yay!
I sampled each one and was torn between Salt and Camembert (PHP580, 10 pcs | PHP1,160, 20 pcs) and Honey & Gorgonzola (PHP620, 10 pcs. | PHP1,240, 20 pcs.). Notice that you don’t really get to save for getting more? It is best to just go for the box of 10 per visit to make sure you enjoy each pack of cookies fresh and worth your money.
In the end, I went with the classic Salt and Camembert which I’ve had before. I chose this one because it had a sharper contrast between the sweet cookies, French salt and creamy Camembert cheese. It was the perfect blend of sweet and salty flavors with a hint of tanginess! I also loved how crunchy the delicate cookies were.
Unlike how I enjoy my other edible splurges, I finished half of my box in one sitting as I have no plans of enjoying a chewy version of this. (I made a mistake before and kept one pack for a month. Though it was still good, Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory cookies are much better fresh.)
I will be back for more and to try its cheesecakes (PHP950)!
So please do open again, Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory! I'll be waiting.

Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory is located at Ground Floor, SM Megamall Fashion Hall, Mandaluyong City.
