A Chocolove Story: Risa Chocolates

I love Risa Chocolates. It never fails to brighten my day. If only I could have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it would be like living in chocolate paradise.
I still remember my first box of Risa Chocolates. It was during the Best Food Forward way back in April 2011 and luckily, I met the friendly owner Pam. I was able to try several chocolates such as Classic, Dark Rum, and Cerveza Negra (my favorite—and no, it will not make you drunk).
It has been a while since I last bought a box but I could still remember how great the truffles were.
This time around, I bought more Cerveza Negra.
NEW PRODUCTS! Risa Chocolates has new products!!!
Giddy, I munched on the Matcha Truffles and the Passion Fruit Pralines.

The Matcha Truffles were amazing. It had this strong green tea flavor at first (because of the matcha powder) but as you continue to savor the truffle, the chocolate taste turns out and the creaminess of the truffles tickles your sweet tooth.
The square ones are the Passion Fruit Praline and the round ones are the Matcha Truffles :)
As for the Passion Fruit Praline, it was not sour at all. Popularly known for its sour taste, Pam told me that they have removed the tangy taste of the fruit turning it into this great (and sweet) praline dessert. It is now one of my favorites. :)

I was bought some Cookie Dough Truffles, and it was really good. It was like soft cookies with a bit of crunch yet you can't deny the delectable texture of truffles. It was also not too sweet. :)
Pam said that she’s exposing her child to dark chocolates and I think that this is a good idea. She was surprised that most of her young customers appreciate dark chocolate more than their parents. I guess this shows that there was this misconception of chocolates being just sweet.
Thus when other types of chocolates start to hit the racks, it doesn’t do as well as milk chocolates. Most of my friends say that it takes time to get used to the “other flavors” or even convince one’s self to try it.
But that’s the interesting thing about chocolates and food in general… exploring different flavors, finding new favorites, loving undiscovered dishes. So let the food trips continue...
WARNING: Risa Chocolates’ creative way of playing with its quality ingredients will surely make you crave for more!
