Makati Chronicles: Bench Café

Bench Café is one of my favorite restaurants in Bonifacio Global City. Aside from its pocket friendly prices,  its great selection of Filipino food make it one of the best places to dine in this blooming business district. And when I visited Greenbelt 3 for an event, I made sure to swing by Bench Café.

Hello, Bench Café
Its Makati branch is relatively smaller compared to its pioneer branch but continues to keep its warm tones and stylish interiors. I was also impressed how some of the staff remember me.
Since R and I were in a rush and only had an hour to spare, we decided to go with Daing Silog (PHP199) and Adobo Flakes (PHP139). We also ordered Ube Halo Halo (PHP95, 12 oz | PHP149, 16 oz) as it was insanely hot that day.
Service was quite fast and we got our plates in less than 10 minutes.
R's Adobo Flakes looks filling with the generous serving of rice and adobo flakes. However, it wasn't something I'd order as I found the flakes rather dry and nothing special. Turns out R also wanted to get Daing too but changed last minute when I ordered it so that we could try different dishes.
My plate of daing topped with that fancy calamansi foam was nothing short of glorious! The boneless fish was oozing with smokey flavor complemented by the zesty calamansi. I was trying to just eat half of my garlic rice but it was just too yummy that I almost wiped my plate clean! It's definitely one new favorite of mine at Bench Café!
And as always, Ube Halo Halo served as an excellent treat to cap our meal. I just hope that they were a bit more careful with the shaved ice as my cup was rather sticky when it was served to me.

Overall, it was a good meal and service. I can't wait for its North branch to open.

Bench Café is located at 2nd Floor, Greenbelt 3, Makati Avenue, Makati City.
