Now Open: Soban K-Town Grill SM Megamall

Soban has been one of my favorite Korean BBQ joints since 2016 and it keeps whipping up more delectable reasons for it to stay in my top 5 loves. And this April 8, 2019, Soban finally opens in Ortigas. 

Hello, Soban K-Town Grill.

Soban is one of the three Korean concepts under Happy Foods Group. With dishes developed by the talented  Mr. Sung Rah of Sariwon, Seoul, Korea, expect nothing but flavorful and succulent premium meats here. 

During the VIP preview, we were served Soban's bang for the buck Mega Meat Set which is definitely worth checking out! And if that's not enough, Soban launches new pocket friendly sets that are perfect for groups of two and four which will be available starting April 10. 

The family favorite Mega Meat Set is now available for two and includes Woo Samgyup, Fresh Samgyupsal and two Marinated Samgyupsal. This set which costs PHP1,000 also comes with unlimited rice, soup and banchan. 

Premium Meat Set (PHP2,200) comes with Woo Samgyup, Fresh Samgyupsal, Yangnyeom Tohsisal, Marinated Samgyupsal, Dak Ganjeong, Japchae and Pajeon plus unlimited rice, soup and banchan.

There are also new samgyupsal flavors to look forward to namely Black Pepper, Gochujang and Honey Spiced Samgyupsal, all available in three sizes, small, medium and large, to fit all appetites! 

First served were some of my favorite munchies! Soban's banchan may not be as extensive as other Korean restaurants but it definitely took time to pick the best ones! My favorite are the egg rolls.

Hands down, Soy Garlic is my favorite samgyupsal flavor. You don't even need to dip it in any sauce or top it with anything to fully enjoy this meat. 

I love my woo samgyup crispy so we let it stay in the grill till it's dark brown. But be careful as it could turn from yummy to burnt in just a few seconds.

With familiar Korean songs playing and cheerful Annyeong Haseyo greeting from the staff, one would feel like a lead star in the latest K-Drama. So come over, take a sit and grab your favorite K-BBQ.
