First Bite: St. Louis House of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert

Always save room for desserts. I've been using that line as an excuse to get my hands on some sweets even after indulging in a heavy meal. After all, there's a separate tummy space or compartment for cakes, ice cream and everything sweet right?

Hello, St. Louis
This Australian cafe and ice cream parlor has been a favorite of many. I was told that this place offers not just great treats but superb service as well.
We passed by around 8 p.m. last Friday for some desserts and we ended up getting Strawberry Nutella Crepe (PHP350) and Churros for two (PHP350) for sharing. I also ordered a large mug of hot Mocha (PHP180).
St. Louis take "large" seriously as my mug was indeed big. My hot drink perfectly defines the word rich as each sip was thick and chocolatey with a hint of caffeine.
The chocolate syrup on the rim of the mug and top of the drink, though nice, was a bit too much. I found the drink too sweet to be paired with desserts.
The plate of Strawberry Nutella Crepe was gorgeous. Generously stuffed with strawberry slices, each bite will give you that delightful contrast between the slightly tangy fruit and velvety Nutella. The vanilla ice cream on top was a nice touch though one could enjoy this delicious dessert without it too.

Our plate of churros for two comes with 6 pieces of churros, cinnamon sugar and two dips. You can choose from milk, dark or white chocolate for your dips. We went with the first two.
The dips were amazing! Thick and very rich, this would have been superb with fresh fruits! It's quite different from the dips you get from other joints which is closer to hot chocolate. St. Louis' version is more similar to spread.
The churros on the other hand, though not oily, were too fried that it was a bit hard to bite. I prefer my churros to be softer as to be able to absorb more of the dip.
While chitchatting with my friends, one of the owners of St. Louis approached us to ask for feedback. He also noticed one of my friends fanning herself and quickly adjusted the A/C for us. Now I understand why some acquaintances of mine commend St. Louis' customer service.
I'd definitely be back for more crepe

St. Louis is located at Bonifacio High Street Central, 7th Avenue, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
