First Bite: Doux PH

With Christmas fast approaching, we get busier than ever finding the perfect gifts for our family and friends. I've been through a lot of holiday shopping mayhem to remember and there is only one thing I got from it-- plan ahead or suffer. And after years of practice, I'm proud to say that I managed to cross out my entire list after a short call. How do I do it? By having a trusty supplier to provide me with delectable treats to give out to everyone. But one new baker I discovered is making me think if I should order more (for myself). 

Hello, Doux.PH.

I got an email from Beah of Doux.PH one night asking if I would be open to try some of her cookies. As a person who does not say no to sweet, I gladly said yes. And a week later, she sent me an assorted box of cookies!

Doux.PH offers the classic Triple Chocolate, and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies. If you want something a bit different, there are also Corn Flake Marshmallow Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Cranberry, Oatmeal Raisins and even Matcha. 

The bite-size cookies reminded me of Mrs. Field's (which is one of my favorites) and taste-wise, it did not disappoint. Not at all.

I first tried the ones I'm familiar with.

I loved that the Doux.PH does not scrimp on chocolate chips as each bite was chocolatey. But if I were to choose between Triple Chocolate or Oatmeal, I'd go with oatmeal as its chewy texture was love. 

I'm not really a fan of cookies with fruits or white chocolate. But for some reason, I liked the White Chocolate Cranberry from Doux.PH. It could be its delightful chewy texture or the sweet and buttery dough. The balance of flavors were spot on too! One thing's for sure though, Doux.PH made me discover a new favorite. 

Aside from its rich taste and addicting texture, these yummy goodies would hardly put a dent on your budget. 

With the small cookie boxes starting at PHP55-60 (for 5 to 6 pieces depending on the flavor), these cookies are definitely great as holiday gifts. 

Pro Tip: Keep these cookies refrigerated and just put them out again at least half an hour before eating it to keep its fantastic texture.
