Konnichiwa, Tsuta!
Tsuta is one of the most talked about ramen shops since 2015 when it earned a prestigious Michelin star. The very first in its category to earn such recognition, it has drawn so much attention that lining up at 6 a.m. whereas the store opens at 11 a.m. became normal.
This world-class ramen was born in a humble shop located at the quiet residential area of Sugamo, Tokyo. Chef Onishi Yuki crafted his own recipes and interpreted ramen in a very interesting way. While keeping ramen authentic with his use of high quality Japanese ingredients such as shoyu from the shoyu brewery in Wakayama and Haccho Miso from Tokushima Prefecture, Chef Yuki also incorporated his own art to it. After years of training under his father's ramen shop, Chef Yuki started to add ingredients that would beautifully complement his much revered broth.
If you have tried Tsuta before or have been researching online on what makes this a destination in Tokyo, then you must have come across the word "truffle". Yes, you read it right, Tsuta's award-winning Shoyu Soba uses truffle oil elevating the dish to a whole different level.
Excited to slurp what's known to be the world's best ramen? The wait is almost over. Tsuta opens on December 16, Saturday and it has an amazing opening promo. The first 10 guests in line get one year supply of Tsuta ramen! The next 20 gets 6 months worth and the following 20 gets 3 months worth of ramen. The succeeding 50 guests each gets a voucher for one free ramen bowl.
Who's game to line up?
