A Meeting To Remember: Borough

For some I-don’t-know-what-happened reason, I lost my appetite. And it was not just for a day or two but 3 weeks! This explains the fewer entries for the past months. But thanks to those green vitamins, the glutton is slowing coming back and craving for a lot of sweets! This entry though was about a lunch out that happened during my tummy’s-on-strike period. Then again, a glutton will always be a glutton.

Hello, Borough. *blush*

I have been eying this place since I read about it from several blog sites. One thing stood out, Mom’s Milk and Cookies (PHP170).

The food gods must really love me as just when I was in one of the gloomiest weeks of my life, there was a sudden change in plans for a lunch meeting. Instead of dining at Lulu at Rockwell, it was moved to Borough, the place my tummy wanted to visit for months. *lucky!*

When we arrived, the place was pretty empty. Perhaps the place attracts more people at night for it has a pub feel to it. I decided to go for the BBT Sandwich (PHP360) while K, one of my colleagues who sat beside me ordered the Grilled Portobello Burger (PHP330). While waiting, we munched on a bowl of Chips and Dip (PHP110).

The dip was quite tangy and I would have just adored it if only my taste buds were not on a bit of a mood swing. I then decided not to take much dip and munched on the crisp potato chips as it is instead.

The BBT Sandwich, also known as the Breast, Brie, and Tomato sandwich arrived soon and it was placed in a basket with more potato chips.

The serving of greens was really generous that at first, I had a hard time looking for the chicken breast. Eating the stuffed sandwich on a basket was also challenging. (It is definitely something you might want to avoid when on a date or perhaps ask for a plate instead.) Nonetheless, the chicken breast was tender and well seasoned. It was definitely not bland. It was a bit salty yet the bread and greens took care of it.

K’s order was also good. It is something you might want to consider if you are not fond of meat as it is just a giant mushroom on bread. The texture was rather interesting as there were different textures present—the chewiness of the mushrooms and the crisp greens. Something I’d love to order when I get to visit this place again.

After finishing our meals, our publisher suggested that we order dessert and it sure made me smile. I’ll finally get to try Mom’s Milk and Cookies (plus Brooklyn Cheesecake [PHP220]).

The milk was diiiiivine! It was thick and creamy. Too bad though that I got so excited that I slurped the whole thing before taking a photo of it. It was also such a delight that they placed the glass of milk in a small stainless pail full of ice. Cuteness overload!
The Brooklyn Cheesecake tastes just like your typical cheesecake... with walnuts.
There were three different kinds of cookies and I believe those are chocolate chip, gingerbread, and oatmeal.  Warm and chewy, just how cookies should be. It was LOVE.

I’ll definitely be back!

Borough is located at the Ground Floor, Podium Mall, 12 ADB Ave. Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
