Hello, The Corner Market Food Hall.
This spacious foodie haven houses several concepts that would make you drool for days. Rounding up unique non-competing brands, you get to have more options to choose from. Made even better with its picturesque interiors and well-lit dining hall, this place is must visit for anyone who wants a few more snaps for their social media feed while making their bellies happy.
For this visit, The Corner Market invited us to try Inari, Pizza Morena and SariSalo's new product offerings.
Inari serves Japanese dishes made modern. It took a healthier route with its sushi rolls by using black rice which contains anthocyanin and Vitamin E (great for skin and immune system) and it gave the Mexican taco a more Asian twist with its Nori Taco.
Though I wasn't able to try its Nori Taco, I managed to sample all variants of its black sushi. Unfortunately, it all tasted pretty much the same. I also found the black rice to be a bit off. Maybe I'm just a purist and like my sushi with the classic Japanese rice. But the slight tougher texture of the black rice made munching these rolls feel like I was eating stale sushi.
But if I were to pick the best one, I'd go with the one stuffed with tempura.
SariSalo treated us with sampling portions of Crispy Pork Binagoongan and Angus Beef Sisig.
I'm a fan of binagoongan and SariSalo had the nice shrimp paste flavor spot on. However, it would have been better if they took the word "crispy" seriously to give the dish more texture and contrast with the greens. The Angus Beef Sisig was a bit too spicy for my liking so I couldn't say much about it. But spicy food lovers would enjoy this as it is definitely packed with heat!
Pizza Morena offered the yummiest dishes out of the three concepts. I was a bit worried to try its pizzas as I've just had the best pizza of my life a few weeks back in Naples, Italy.
Out of the 8 brick oven pizza flavors served, I manage to try three namely 4 Cheese and Chives, Sausage and Sage and Anchovy, Gorgonzola & Olives. I loved 4 Cheese and Chives best. I also found it the tastiest despite having the simplest toppings. I guess they didn't scrimp on cheese.
They also served Burrata Salad for those watching their calorie intake. But for those who don't, why have salad when you can indulge in pizza?
