Hello, Radiance Aesthetic Center.
Like most skin clinics, Radiance Aesthetic Center offers wide range of skin solutions. But one thing I noticed from having a quick chat with its owner and clinic dermatologist, Dr. Trix Castañeda, is that Radiance Aesthetic Center meticulously look for equipment and new skin solutions that are effective, pain-free and cost efficient.
Dr. Castañeda emphasized it when she showed me the Clear Lift machine that aims to get rid of fine lines and provide a noninvasive face lift.
For this visit though, I went with Hyrafacial (PHP3,500) to try put an end to my dehydrated skin. One session could last for as quick as 30 minutes or over an hour depending on the skin's condition (if there will be a lot to extract or not).
Like normal facials, Hyrafacial starts with a nice gentle facial cleanse to get rid of any makeup or dirt.
This is followed by a relaxing facial lymphatic massage that stimulate the thoracic nodes and to prepare the skin absorb the serums that will be applied. It is quite similar to cupping therapy that encourages blood flow.
Next step is Vortex-Cleansing and Exfoliation where Activ-4™ is applied. Active-4™ contains algae extract which is rich in hydrating antioxidants leaving the skin smooth and radiant. It also has lactic acid that help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles giving your skin a clearer look.
This is followed by Acid Peel or the application of GlySal™ 7.5% which is a one-step resurfacing procedure with its accelerated peel benefits with immediate visible skin rejuvenation without any downtime.
Beta-HD™, a multi-action skin solution, is also applied on the skin. This is designed to combat oily and congested skin but it can also be used on all skin types. It provides deep cleansing and its Salicylic Acid content exfoliates the skin preventing buildup of dirt and sebum within pores by gently softening it for easier extraction. Aside from Salicylic acid, Beta-HD™ also contains honey extract, known for hits natural hydration properties and amino acid that helps keep the skin soft and supple. It also ahs Spiraea Ulmaria Flower Extract that helps nourish the skin.
Next up are the application of the specialty vials-- DermaBuilder™, Britenol® and CTGF™. Dermabuilder™ is an advanced age-refining peptide complex serum that enhances skin elasticity. Britenol® is a spot treatment solution leading to a more radiant and even complexion. CTGF™, on the other hand, helps minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with growth factors which are natural proteins responsible for the skin's ability to heal.
Last serum applied was Antiox-6™ which combines Hyaluronic Acid (a potent moisturizer) with antioxidants such as Vitamin A, E, White Tea Extract, Horse Chestnut Extract and Rosemary Extract. This mixture addresses skin spots and dryness.
After all serums have been applied, an LED Light Treatment will take place to help stimulate production of collagen. Two lights are used for this--red and blue.
The red LED light is designed to treat wrinkles, sun damange, scars and broken capillaries. Blue LED light, on the other hand, is used to treat blemishes. There are also claims that blue LED light treats skin cancer but that is yet to be scientifically proven.
My session lasted for a bit over an hour and I have to admit, I felt glowing after. I didn't experience any itchiness or even redness after the session which was very different from my first Hyrafacial. And it turns out that there are several other clinics that claim to offer Hyrafacial but do not use Hydrafacial MD, the offical machine for this treatment. No wonder the effect was so different.
If you happen to be unsure if you are getting the right Hydrafacial, make sure that the machine they'll use looks like this and follows the steps I've noted in this article.
This lifestyle skin solution is really amazing and I will surely be back for more sessions! Do try it too and let me know what you think.
