First Bite: Unna's Corner

I go crazy whenever I see cats and dogs. These adorable creatures are just too much to handle. This is why I immediately gave a big fat yes when DiscoverMNL invited me to a fun Summer Soiree at Unna's Corner with Unna the Pug as our hostess.

Hello, Unna's Corner.

This adorable cafe adjacent to a dance studio is located at Paseo de Magallanes, a compound of establishments quite far from the areas I frequent. However, it being far from the rest made it a one stop shop as it has a bunch of restaurants, bars, salons and other service centers to cater to your needs and cravings.

It'd be easy to miss out Unna's Corner as it doesn't have a huge signage in front. But as long as you know that it's near Kuya J's, you'll be fine. Just head up to the third floor and you'll find it with a cutie pie pug waiting to greet you.

I was the first to arrive for the Summer Soiree and I had the perk of having solo time with Unna for 15 minutes. It was time to let go of her when she got tired of me (ouch) and that was when I decided to try some of the cafe's healthy offerings. I went with Southern Chicken Cha Cha (PHP250) and Purple Monkey Shuffle Shake (PHP170).

Since I'm a sucker for dragon fruit, I opted for the one packed with it and that's Purple Monkey Shuffle.

And true to what the server told me, it wasn't your usual sweet shake. Foodies who have sweet tooth my not like this drink but I enjoyed the combination of dragon fruit and bananas. I liked that it was refreshing and that it made me feel healthier.

The Southern Chicken Cha Cha was pretty good as well. 

The grilled chicken looked like chicken teriyaki but with a milder taste giving the greens a bit of the spotlight as well. One order of this could definitely fill one up as the serving size is huge. It's best to share this with someone if you plan to have this as an afternoon snack.

Overall, it was a fun afternoon at Unna's Corner. The food offerings may not be extraordinary but having a pug as a hostess is. I had a blast spending the last days of summer with Unna. I'll definitely be back to spend more time with this charmer.
