First Bite: Wok2Go

In order to survive in Manila, one must learn to move and act fast. And with the intense daily struggle with city traffic, we are challenged to do several tasks at the same time. Thankfully, a new food concept understands our need to be always on the go and three brilliant minds thought of Wok2Go.

Hello, Wok2Go.
This refreshing concept by Kim Garcia, Marc Soong and Angie Mead King located at Venice Grand Canal Mall is designed to allow its diners to enjoy its savory dishes while being on the move.
Wok2Go allows its diners to be creative with their orders as each meal is highly customizable. Foodies can choose from a wide range of sauces and ingredients that one would not think would work together… but surprisingly do.
With local and international sauces, one can choose among Sinigang, Adobo, Binagoongan, Hong Kong Pepper, Korean Gochujang, Thailand Green Curry, Indonesian Rujak and Japanese Teriyaki Sauce.
For fiber, the options are red or white rice, rice noodles or mixed vegetables. For meat, you have beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and squid.  Other add-ons are various greens such as broccoli, cauliflower, bell pepper and chili. There are also fried tofu, fried shallots, mushrooms, crushed peanuts and sesame seeds to give different flavors and textures.
Since I love sour soup, I went with Sinigang with rice noodles topped with squid bits, broccoli and mushrooms.
And I was pleasantly delighted that all ingredients work harmoniously with each other! (They weren’t kidding when they said, “the weirder, the better.”)
The tangy soup base was evident per bite and I wasn’t expecting that I’d enjoy it with noodles. The squid, broccoli and mushrooms on the other hand added texture to the dish.
R tried Pork Binagoongan with red rice and the works in terms of meat and liked it too!
Though one order could be pricier compared to other options (as mine reached PHP210 with minimal toppings) as everything is an add-on, it is money well spent as you will indulge in a healthier than fast food meal and you also get to pick what you want.
Wok2Go opened its doors to the public last January 28 and there are already plans for expansions with two to three more in the pipeline.

Wok2Go is located at 2nd Floor, Venice Grand Canal Mall, McKinley Hill, Taguig City.
