Restaurant Discovery: Texas Roadhouse Grill

[Mother’s Day Celebration Saga] So, after watching Iron Man 3 (second time for me), we opted to have dinner at Texas Roadhouse Grill due to my desperate attempt to look for an establishment with plugs to charge my almost dying phone.

Hello, Texas Roadhouse Grill! You got me at the word “plug”.

The restaurant exudes the Texan feel with predominantly brown interiors with a bit of red. The wheels also added the Western feel to it.

While browsing the menu, I had this sudden feel to order margarita and totally forgot that there was an alcohol ban then. Tsk. Anyway, after a few minutes, we decided to order Creamy Parmesan Chicken (PHP395), Geronimo’s Seafood Pasta Marinara (PHP350) and Shrimp and Salmon Skewer (PHP495). For dessert, we ordered Country Custard (PHP165). I also ordered a glass of Grape Shake (PHP120) as my beverage.

Given that there were only a few tables occupied that time, service was quick. Waiting time was less than 15 minutes as I hardly got to eat some nuts (served on wait baskets).

The marinara was slightly spicy but rich in flavor. You can’t deny that you’re eating marinara. The shrimp, mussels, and squid used were fresh as well. The serving was pretty generous too.

The Creamy Parmesan Chicken was a bit dry but was saved by the parmesan sauce. Slightly tangy because of the parmesan, this is one dish cheese lovers would adore!

The Shrimp and Salmon Skewers dish was a bit on the bland side. You have to make use of the butter sauce and add a dash of lemon to further enhance the flavor of the shrimp and salmon.

I’m not sure if I was eating a lot of junk food lately, but I really enjoyed the fresh vegetables (side dish of the chicken and skewer).

Now for dessert…
The crème brulee is a winner! It was smooth and had a great contrast with the crisp caramelized sugar. Definitely a great way to end our meal.

I’ll be back, Texas Roadhouse Grill!

Texas Roadhouse Grill is located at 6F East Wing Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City.
