Hello, Nonna's.
Nonna's is the sister brand of Mama Lou's. You'd quickly notice it too once you check its menu.
I originally wanted to order its addictive Mushroom Chicharon (PHP215). Sadly, it was unavailable when we visited. We ended up going for the classic Mozzarella Sticks (PHP235) instead that comes with marinara sauce.
And it was just as good as when I first had it years ago when I visited its Nuvali branch. Slightly crunchy outside with warm gooey cheese on the inside.
I was very picky during the first trimester of my pregnancy. I would usually stick with soup to fill me up. And Nonna's Cream of Mushroom (PHP250) never fails. Sure, it might be a bit on the pricey side. But its thick texture makes it worth every penny. I even got to share a bowl with my mom and sister.
Playing it safe with cheeses, I often ask the servers if they use pasteurized cheese on their pizzas. However, most establishments do not seem to share this information with the front staff. As to avoid any mishap, we went with Margherita (PHP415). [Note: Nonna's crew got back to us and mentioned that only its Spinach & Goat Cheese Pizza is not safe for expecting moms.]
And of course, a trip to Nonna's is not complete without having truffled pasta. We got Nonna's Truffle Pasta (PHP385, Piccolo | PHP995, Medio | PHP1,500, Grande).
I love how each mouthful was creamy and had that right amount of truffle taste to satisfy the taste buds. The al dente radiatori pasta was also a great choice as it added more texture to the dish.
And we paired all our favorites with Nonna's refreshing Raspberry Iced Tea (PHP165, 1L).
Nonna's Robinsons Galleria and Nuvali branches are now open for dine-in. But if you prefer takeout, they also offer curbside pickups for hassle-free transactions.
