I have a weak spot for bread. I find freshly baked bread so irresistible that I could never say no to it. And when I was asked by D if she could send me some of her focaccia bread, I quickly said yes!
Hello, Candishhh Bakes!
You may have heard of Candishhh if you are actively reading food blogs. She has been blogging since 2005! Yes, she started more than a decade before the word influencer became a widely used term. She has always been one of the bloggers I trust.
I know that she enjoys good food. But I was not aware that she makes some mean focaccia too!
She started her focaccia business called Candishhh Bakes just last month after much convincing from family and friends. She currently offers two variants-- Rosemary+Tomato+Olives and Garlic+Olives+Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel Seasoning-- both priced at PHP250 each.
The Rosemary+Tomato+Olives focaccia is a beaut!
I love the contrast in colors. I found its aroma mouthwatering too.
The rosemary's sage-like spice complemented the salty taste of olives and slightly tangy flavor of cherry tomatoes. I enjoyed it a lot with the classic olive oil with balsamic vinegar dip.
D was a bit worried that I might not like Garlic+Olives+Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel Seasoning as pregnant women usually dislike garlic. But I loved it! Garlic has been a staple in my diet since my first trimester.
Just like the other variant, this too had a lovely smell thanks to the generous serving of garlic. Its flavor was well balanced. It would serve as a great side dish with pasta or meat.
