Hello, Catch of the Day by Cold Storage.
Catch of the Day is Cold Storage's paluto-type stall at The Corner Market.
With seafood such as salmon, milk fish, prawn and lobster available to be cooked based on your preference--fried, baked, seared or grilled, you are bound to have a scrumptious meal.
Ordering is very straightforward. Simply pick your seafood and preferred method of cooking then select a sauce and side to go with your meal. And you're done!
I went with salmon (PHP220) and had it baked. I paired it with citrus garlic butter and mashed potatoes. I also tried its Mango Iced Tea for PHP70. Note that there's a cooking charge of PHP120. I didn't see it on the menu board or on the counter. I just found out when I was about to pay. (I'm also not sure if the cooking charge is one time for all seafood with the same cooking method or per piece.)
My order was served after 10 to 15 minutes and I was surprised that my side was wrong. Thankfully, it didn't take too long for my mashed potatoes to be prepared.
The salmon was smaller than expected but it was baked to perfection. It had that light pink color and each bite was juicy and flavorful. I enjoyed it a lot with the citrus garlic butter sauce.
The mashed potato made the dish a lot more filling. However, it did have that instant mashed potato texture which made me wish that I didn't correct my order.
I liked the mango iced tea. It was refreshing and went well with my meal. I found its taste similar to Lick's mango drink.
My meal came out to be a bit more expensive than I thought. But it was filling and I enjoyed every bit of it. I'd definitely be back for more.
