First Bite: Maricar's Chocolate Cakes

Chocolate cakes served in tin cans became a crazy trend last year. We've seen the growth of several home bakers offering these sinfully rich cakes in different flavors with chocolate as its usual bestseller. But celebrity Maricar Reyes-Poon was way ahead when she launched her own line of chocolate liquor cakes back in 2015. And with it winning over so many hearts (and taste buds), it was not surprising that it got an award for one of the top desserts by Inquirer.

Hello, Maricar's Chocolate Cakes!
I got a sweet message from Pat of Maricar's Chocolate Cakes one night asking if I'd be interested to try one of their cakes. I replied YES in a heartbeat as I couldn't say no to good dessert.

And I got my sweet 6.5 inch chocolate cake (PHP699) a few weekends ago.
Still served on a gold tin can, unboxing this treat feels like Christmas morning when we open presents.
Beautiful chocolate swirl will greet you once you've removed the cover and it was extremely hard to focus on taking photos with this as a yummy distraction.
I eventually gave up on taking more snaps and decided to take one big spoonful. And this is the definition of decadent, moist and everything heavenly cake
Though it may look overwhelmingly sweet, it wasn't. I'm not sure how it was done but there was a balance, refinement of sorts that work. It would go well with milk, coffee, tea or yes, even wine.
I know that Maricar's cakes have been known to be infused with red wine but I couldn't taste any with the one I got. I did notice too that there was no mention of liquor in the sticker. So perhaps this is another version of her cakes? Nonetheless, this cake deserves all the praise!
Grab yours now! Call or text +639178648282 to place your order. The cakes are available for pick up or delivery Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m..

And watch out for Maricar's free cake promo for this upcoming Father's Day! But the icing to the giveaway is that she will deliver the cakes herself!
