L.A. Food Find Favorite: Kyochon

Hey, Bonch—Kyochon? Same offering, different names… confused.

After a very short Chinatown trip, my mom, sister and I decided to have lunch at our new favorite place, Glendale Galleria. With grumbling tummies, we patiently waited for the bus and off to shopping wonderland.
Since we were stingy that day, we decided to avoid restaurants and headed towards the food court instead. There were a lot of choices but the two restaurants/food concessionaires that stood out were Panda Express (since I love pandas) and Kyochon.

Since Kyochon was the one giving freebies, we decided to go for it.
I was surprised that the offering of Kyochon was similar with another chicken place I know that ends with “chon”. Twice fried chicken. Good ‘ol sweet twice fried chicken.

The samples were really good so we decided to buy the box of 6 plus rice (as we just could not call it lunch without rice).
What I loved about the chicken of Kyochon was that you could still taste the sweet flavor of the sauce on the meat (as some chicken places fail to do so and ended with crispy and flavorful skin and bland meat). It was definitely crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

The size of the chicken was pretty good too thus 6 pieces was a bit too much for 2 (as my mom decided not to eat).
It was a chicken love story.
