SeaKing Celebrates its 20th Anniversary

I rarely do my groceries but my fondness for marinated milkfish made SeaKing a familiar brand. I'd often grab a bunch of its smoked variant which I find so easy to prepare. And last Friday's festivities made me appreciate this brand beyond its products.

Happy 20th Year, SeaKing!
Just like most businesses, Seaking started as a small business in 1999, spearheaded by the Uy siblings. It was a dream that the three sisters and brother never thought would grow this big.

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
This quote from Disney struck the Uy siblings. They didn't just dream of a fish business but they worked hard to make it happen. The business didn't grow to expand to international market just because they were lucky. It was inevitable given the passion and dedication they put in the business. From deboning each fish to packaging and even taking care of its logistics, the Uy siblings have done it all.

The Uys sincerity and love for the brand was felt by all the guests when they spoke about the business' humble beginnings and expressed their gratitude to all their partners in making SeaKing what it is today. It really made me feel like I was attending a birthday party instead of a corporate event. There was so much warmth throughout the afternoon.
Another highlight of the event was the launch of SeaKing's Wild Alaskan Salmon
Deemed as the best seafood in the world and one of the richest source of Omega 3, Wild Alaskan Salmon has been a sought after fish among several countries. Its reddish flesh is a reflection of its natural diet which is composed of shrimp, krill and sea crab. And this makes it one of the healthiest proteins in the world.
Ideally cooked within the range of 130-135 Fahrenheit or 58 Celsius, there are various ways to enjoy Wild Alaskan Salmon. And we were treated to three different salmon dishes that day.
Grilled Salmon Steak with Lemon Garlic Sauce
Baked Salmon wit Beurre Blanc
Salmon Skewers
The first two had light flavors putting the spotlight on the salmon. I liked Salmon Skewers the most with its sweet and savory sauce. It's perfect too for parties and gatherings this coming Christmas.

I'd definitely grab a pack or two of the salmon chunks and create a hearty soup or recreate that skewer dish for Christmas.

Since the party was far from over, we had a scrumptious meal from Makati Shangri-la. With selections ranging from salad to pasta and carving, all the guests were stuffed!
I absolutely loved the tender boneless rib eye which I paired with baked potato.
And the macarons too were worth the calories!

The event ended with the most engaging raffle I've witnessed! It was surely one event hard to forget.

Again, happy anniversary, SeaKng!

SeaKing is available in leading supermarkets nationwide.
