First Sip: Satinka Naturals

With wide variety of food and cuisine to choose from, it's so hard to stick on a diet or even eat healthy. I salute those who tirelessly eat clean and organic. I tried and failed (miserably) several times. As someone who loves every single sinful dish, I don't know how these organic restaurants charm me. It could be the great reviews I've been reading or its quirky interiors. This time around, I gave Satinka Naturals a try.

Hello, Satinka Naturals
I've heard of this place a few years back when a former colleague of mine couldn't stop raving about it. She wasn't exactly a healthy eater so her raving about this place intrigued me.
I happen to pass by the area one time prior to an event a few blocks away and I decided to swing by and give it a try.

Satinka is easy to spot as it is by the corner. The two-story shop has organic beauty and home products on the first floor and a small dining area on the second.

The dining area is cute though a bit too dim for my liking. We also had to remove our shoes if we want to dine by the low coffee table nook.
It was a hassle that all the staff were downstairs and no one was available upstairs to get my order. I had to put on my shoes again and go down to call one of the staff.

But this was where things got weird. After ordering Lemon Cucumber Cooler (PHP95), the waiter who got my order decided to sit across my table. And I couldn't help say, "Yes?" and that was when he got up and went down to process my order.
It took a long time before my drink was served and when it finally arrived, I noticed that it had a little extra. Needless to say, I had it changed. Taste-wise, it was your usual lemon cucumber shake. Nothing spectacular but refreshing and perfect drink on a humid day in Manila.
My friend got Strawberry Shake (PHP148) which uses mountain strawberries. It was a tad sour which reinforces that this place doesn't drown its drinks in sugar.

Though there are savory dishes to try, I don't think I'll be visiting this place anytime soon not because of the fact that I'm not a fan of healthy food. I'm just not keen with its sub par service and being a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Note: I wasn't able to take much photos as I was busy protecting myself against the nasty blood sucking insects.

Satinka Naturals is located at 1137  Kamagong Street, San Antonio, Makati City.
