First Sip: Tim Hortons
Everyone was so excited when Tim Hortons announced that they will be bringing in the well-loved brand to Manila. I've heard about Tim Hortons but I could not share the same giddiness as I've never tried it before. The crazy long line sure made me curious though but figured that it must be just because it was new and everyone wanted to know how good this Canadian brand really is. But the practical me opted to wait and I've had my first sip several weeks after it opened its doors to the public.
Hello, Tim Hortons.
It has been weeks since its grand opening but this Canadian joint known for its coffee and doughnuts was still packed when I dropped by at 3 pm on a weekday. The good thing though was that I was the next person in line so I didn't have to queue that long.
I was still full from my late lunch then so I just opted to go for a medium cup of Double Double (PHP80). I was told tha the bestseller is French Vanilla but I opted for the famous DD as it's the one recommended in the reviews I've read.
Service was quick as I didn't even have time to look for an available seat before my drink was made ready for pick up.
I was surprised that the medium cup is actually big for its price. I felt that I got a good deal as soon as I got my cup of joe. And taste-wise... it was actually good too. Okay, it's just your simple coffee with two servings of cream and sugar. But I like my coffee that way. Don't get me wrong. I also enjoy single origin coffee and those that use more sophisticated brewing methods. However, there are days when simple coffee like this will do. And for its price, I'm definitely heading back for more.
I've read mixed reviews about its doughnuts but I'd still like to give it a try before I judge it.
Tim Hortons is located at Ground Floor, Uptown Mall, 9th Avenue, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
