First Sip: Costa Coffee

I love coffee and anything with caffeine. I always smile whenever I get a sniff of the mouthwatering aroma of coffee. Combining good coffee with well thought of interiors make me go crazy. Subspace, Single Origin, CO/OP and Caravan Black are just a few cafés with notable interiors. Popular UK coffee chain Costa Coffee came in recently but I’ve always thought that it is just another Starbucks or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I was wrong.

Hello, Costa Coffee!
The place is adorable! The first thing I spotted was the red phone booth which screams London. Apparently, English-theme seems to be the overall theme of this branch.  (Or is it the same for all branches?)
I waited outside for the people I was scheduled to meet that day. And surprisingly, despite the scorching late summer heat, it was pretty cool at the al fresco area. I guess Eastwood was able to design the place well and ensured proper air flow.
After a couple of minutes, J and G arrived and we headed upstairs to discuss a campaign. J and I headed down again to order and I got Caramel Latte Cream Frostino (PHP150 | Primo). We got a wait number and headed back up for the meeting.
I was glad that Costa Coffee serves the customers orders to their tables as the wait wasn’t exactly short. Then again, given the number of customers that time, there might have been a long back order.
Nonetheless, we got our drinks in less than 15 minutes. It wasn’t that bad especially since we were not in a rush anyway.
I resisted to drink my frostino (ice blended coffee) till the meeting was over as I wanted to move to another table for a nicer background. Throughout the meeting, I was so worried that the whipped cream will lose its shape. But it survived! *Whew*
After a few snaps here and there, I took a long sip and I was not disappointed. I was a bit iffy that the price was a bit steep considering that I got the smallest cup. But my drink, which the server said to be a bestseller, was pretty good! It had a lovely coffee taste and harmoniously blended with the sweetness of caramel. It is a great drink for those who are not into strong coffee
I’ll definitely visit Costa Coffee again to try the other drinks and perhaps some dishes as well.
