Cheap Bites: Above Sea Level

Above Sea Level has been one of the most successful concepts that started in food parks. It started in January 2017 and grew to over a hundred branches and franchises nationwide. And last April, it found a new home at Pobstacion. Its fragrant dishes made it hard for us to ignore its famous battered butterfly squid.

Consistent with its vision to be identified as the first seafood fast food brand in the country, our crunchy treats were served within 10 minutes.

Its butterfly squid is available in four sizes-- Giant (PHP180), Super (PHP250), King (PHP350) and Groot (PHP450). All comes with java rice for one, two, three and four respectively. Best to stick with just giant than super if you're with someone as the size difference of the two is quite small.

If you're with a group, one mess-free alternative is Squid Fries (PHP250) which is basically your butterfly squid but chopped. Make sure to ask for vinegar for that nice contrast in flavor.

Aside from these squid dishes, Above Sea Level Pobstacion also offers the other seafood items I got to try at its Maginhawa stand alone store. There are bacon wrapped shrimp and Seafood Platter which is a yummy combination of shrimps, crab, mussels and corn.

Drinks are something this stall do not put much attention to so best to grab your drink from Cha Tuk Chak or Wing's Lab.
