First Sip: Cattle Milkshake Bar

Milkshakes are like fashion. It has its classic and crazy years. We've seen and tasted clean, creamy milkshakes and we've also witnessed these drinks topped with burgers and what-have-you. As much as I love milkshakes, I often find myself avoiding it when I see it being ridiculously topped with everything in the candy store. I make a few exceptions though especially when I hear that the place is good.
Hello, Cattle Milkshake Bar
This new milkshake bar in SM North Edsa is screaming with cuteness. Its interiors try to recreate this barn look with the ceiling as the bright blue sky and hats as its light fixture.
There is also a wall with buckets of chocolate and a freedom wall for guests to leave their messages. And a lot left very positive feedback on Mona Lisa Milkshake.

Francesca warmly welcomed us to their fun store and she recommended that we try the following: Philly Cheese Steak (PHP269), Oreo Cake (PHP95), Blueberry Cheesecake (PHP95), Mini Oreo S'mores (PHP35), Mac N Cheese (PHP259), Chicken N Cheese (PHP259), Nachos (PHP140) and Cattle German Franks (PHP150). For our milkshakes, we opted to go with Pavarotti (PHP148) and Mona Lisa (PHP148).
Service was quick as the dishes came one after another in less than 10 minutes.
The Philly Cheese Steak had this nice sweet taste that would remind you of breakfast tapa. The cheese gave it a bit of salty taste creating a lovely blend of flavors.
The Chicken N Cheese was great too! The wheat bread was stuffed with generous serving of chicken chunks and cheese! It's great for those who want to eat healthier without sacrificing taste.
The Cattle German Franks were so soft and juicy. Though I prefer my franks to have that snap per bite, I wouldn't mind settling for this treat anytime as it was so cheesy! It would have been a bit better though with some relish and fries on the side.
I fell for the cheesy nachos as it was topped with a lot of chopped tomatoes. As a tomato junkie, I went head over heels in love with this. And at PHP140, ordering two plates wouldn't hurt the wallet.
The Mac N Cheese on a small skillet was a cute way of presenting this classic favorite. However, it failed to impress me in terms of taste. It wasn't cheesy enough for me. Then again, R found it cheesy enough and even finished the whole thing. (I guess I'm an intense cheese lover.)
I just realized that all of its savory dishes have cheese on it. But I'm not complaining at all!
Our milkshakes were awesome. Despite having a lot of toppings, the milkshakes were surprisingly not that sweet. It would not make you think that you're sipping blended cake or anything like that. It still quenched our thirst in a way.
If you are wondering what are in our drinks, my Mona Lisa is a Ferrero Rocher blended drink with Kinder Bueno and Crumbled Flakes.
R's Pavarotti milkshake has raspberries and meringue blended with whipped cream.

To cap our meal, we indulged in Cattle Milkshake Bar's Oreo Cake and Blueberry Cheesecake
The Oreo Cake was dense, moist and very sweet. It's something foodies with sweet tooth would enjoy. But I had to drink water after a few spoonfuls. (Tita of Manila here.)
I liked the Blueberry Cheesecake more as it wasn't as sweet. The creamy texture of the cake was delightful and I liked how the sweet blueberry bits and cream cheese complement each other. It would have been nicer though if the crust was a bit crunchier.
Another sweet treat we had was the Mini Oreo S'mores. I was so surprised that it was very sweet. I only had one bite and gave up. But R finished it in record time. Again, it's something sugar addicts would enjoy.
Overall, it was a pleasant visit. Service was prompt and the ambiance was warm and inviting. I also had fun reading the feedback and messages of some customers. I'd definitely swing by again!

Cattle Milkshake Bar is located at 2nd Floor, SM City North Edsa Annex Building, Quezon City.
