Not Just Another Hype: Nacho Macho MNL

Don't you just love how many new food concepts were born during the lockdown? From dalgona coffee to ube pandesal and sourdough bread, we now have things such as sushi bake and bibimbake. And one of the newest hypes I got to try was Nacho Macho MNL's Nacho Bake.

Hello, Nacho Macho MNL.

Nacho Macho is the brainchild of two young entrepreneurs Kelsey and Kelshia Lopez. They started this business just last month. And it has already gained patrons within the metro.

Fun Fact: Kelsey is just 15. Her sister Kelshia is 13. No wonder they call me auntie!

The idea of turning one of their favorite midnight snacks as a business came to mind when their dad suggested that they turn it into a business. And with PHP5,000 seed money, they got to establish Nacho Macho MNL.

Its nacho bake comes in three sizes, small (PHP580, good for 3-5 pax), medium (PHP880, good for 5-7 pax) and large (PHP1,380, good for 8-12 pax). Each order also comes with tomato salsa and nacho chips.

Don't let its simple look fool you as this three-layered nacho bake is generously stuffed with flavorful ground beef then handsomely topped with cheese, cream, and slices of jalapeño

Make sure to wash your hands and put this pan of nacho bake on a clean surface as you'll surely make a mess. I had several chips give up on me as I try to scoop some nacho bake as it was THICK. And that's a good thing.

Best to reheat the pan or the portion you'd like to consume in an oven or microwave before indulging so that you get that delectable gooey and stretchy cheese!

If you want your nacho bake to have a little extra of everything, you can get some add ons-- extra beef (PHP100), cheese (PHP70), jalapeño (PHP70), nacho chips (PHP70), salsa (PHP70). I was happy with the serving of ingredients in my nacho bake. But I would have ordered extra chips for my small pan.

Nacho Macho MNL is at University Hills Subdivision, Caloocan City. They deliver from 1 to 4 p.m. daily.
