McDonald's Not So Secret Menu

I always get excited whenever I see a new item in McDonald's menu. But a few months back, Ronald McDonald thought of offering its new products in a different way. It was presented as riddles and I have to admit, I was dumbfounded by it. It just made sense when serious foodies started posting revealing the answers.

Hello, McDonald's
I was excited to drop by the nearest McDonald's as soon as I got back in Manila. With four "secret menu" products to choose from, I went with what I found most different-- Surf 'N Turf (PHP159, a la carte | PHP189, small | PHP209, medium | PHP226, large).
To be honest, I'm not a fan of McDonald's burgers except for McChicken. But since this seemed to be the only one that didn't sound like an upgrade in terms of patty, I went for it.
It was pretty obvious that the burger comes with the usual burger patty and fish fillet but I was surprised that it also comes with three buns! I couldn't help feel like I was just about to get a Burger McDo and Filet-O-Fish.

True enough, it was just a combination of the two burgers. It didn't taste anything special. And I hate to say it but I was disappointed. I should have just gotten a Burger McDo and Filet-O-Fish and saved a few pesos.
But I'm not closing my doors (or tummy) to the other secret menu items. I definitely have my eyes on Double McChicken.

Other secret menu items are Triple Cheeseburger (PHP149, a la carte | PHP179, small | PHP199, medium | PHP216, large), Double McChicken (PHP149, a la carte | PHP179, small | PHP199, medium | PHP216, large) and Double Quarter Pounder (PHP215, a la carte | PHP245 small | PHP265, medium | PHP282, large).

McDonald's has branches nationwide. For this visit, I went to Shell Service Station, Ortigas Avenue corner F. Ortigas Road and Sapphire Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig.
