What's a better way to cap the work week than to enjoy a cocktail or two? Though I usually head straight home after work on Fridays to avoid the nasty Manila traffic, spending Friday nights over some drinks ain't a bad idea. And a few Fridays ago, I capped the week at Selu's Bar.
Hello, Selu's Bar.
This is the second stop of the Summer Soiree organized by Discover MNL and Valerie Montenegro which is located a floor below Unna's Corner.
I wanted to go with Espresso Martini (PHP250) as I love coffee based drinks but decided to go for Strawberry and Kiwi Mojito (PHP270) as it sounded more refreshing.
I got the front row seat in watching the barista prepare my drink. The first thing I noticed was that they do not pre-cut the fruits. The strawberry and kiwi were sliced after my order was placed. I actually prefer it that way as it ensures the fruits' freshness.
Since I was the lone visitor at 4 p.m., I got my drink within 5 to 7 minutes.
For a mojito, it was pretty strong. You could definitely taste the Bacardi in one sip. It went very well with the tangy fruits giving it a refreshing flavor. And since I had another event to attend to right after, I decided to let my drink sit for a bit and allow the ice to melt and dilute the alcohol.
I would have loved to try its bar chow as well but I had to leave early to avoid the crazy Friday night mayhem. Then again, it's the perfect reason to swing by again soon.
Selu's Bar is located at 2nd Floor, Oakridge Plaza, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City.
