Restaurant Love: Magnum Manila

This summer heat is getting crazier and crazier. It’s making me fat too! I don’t want to move at all and I lost all of the motivation to be more active. All I want now is ice cream. And last Sunday was a perfect day to get fatter for we had lunch at…
This time, I tried Magnum Manila’s savory dishes. We ordered Kabocha Pumpkin Soup (PHP180), Spinach Cannelloni (PHP350), Seared Chicken with Arugula and Sundried Tomato Pasta (PHP280), and Make my Heart Melt (PHP350) to cap our meal.
The pumpkin soup was not as creamy as I thought but it had the sweet pumpkin taste that I love. The contrast of sweetness of the pumpkin and the saltiness of the bacon cream and bits was delightful as well.
The Spinach Cannelloni was a bit too creamy to the point that your palate will get tired of it. I guess this one is great for sharing. (The server asked us if we want to have some shaved chocolate on top and it tasted… weird.)
The Seared Chicken with Arugula and Sundried Tomato Pasta (that’s a mouthful) was LOVE. It was value for money too. The chicken was very juicy and the pasta was cooked al dente. The sundried tomatoes added a lovely tangy flavor to the dish and the arugula added texture.

Now for dessert…
Make my Heart Melt had to be taken somewhat literally. It was very interesting to watch the chocolate dome melt when the hot puree was poured over it.
It was chocolate overload. The crisp brownies and flourless cake added crunch and chewiness to the dish. I enjoyed munching on the strawberry bits with dark chocolate syrup. This dessert did melt my heart. <3

A colleague of mine told me that Magnum Manila will be closing soon. I’m not sure if this is true but I guess this means that I have to visit it again very soon.

Till next time, Magnum Manila.

Magnum Manila is located at 5th Floor, SM Aura Premier, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
