First Sip: Habitual Coffee

The summer heat is making me cranky. It is just too intense these days. But I could never turn down a free cup of coffee.

Hello, Habitual Coffee!

This small coffee shop located at Ortigas Home Depot is one of the silent players in the world of third wave coffee.

Upon entering, I fell in love with the shelves that display cute knick-knacks. My sister finds it pricey though.

Since it was super hot that afternoon, I decided to get Habitual Coffee’s iced mocha called “Old Habits Die Hard” (PHP180) paired with Three Cheese Sandwich (PHP160).

First served was my drink and… it was very bitter for an iced mocha. My sister was surprised too with the bitterness. We already mixed the whole thing and it was still bitter. Perhaps they used dark cocoa? But it definitely killed my old habits!

The sandwich though was yummy. The chewy and stretchy cheese sandwiched by buttery toasts was delightful. It was pretty big too so it could be good for two people.

­Despite the bitter drink, I’m still willing to go back to try the other sandwiches and perhaps some desserts too! (They have Lace Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich (PHP140) and Blow-Torched S’mores (PHP180)).
