D-I-Y: My Ikea Experience

Ikea... oh how I love thee. From those cute accessories down to the most colorful furniture, you never fail to amaze me. For the longest time, I was in love with this giant brand. Little did I know that I have yet to experience the full Ikea deal.

Yes, I'm back to the land of uhm... Disney! And agenda on the first day is a trip to IKEA. (Woohoo!)
How I miss the place. The cute set ups, the interesting furniture, the soft stuffed toys, everything is L-O-V-E!
Anyway, N and I were looking for a dresser and after an hour of looking around, we found the one.

We had this little order slip and gave it to one of the staff. She then printed an order form with the code which we have to present to the cashier and pay for our purchase.
After that, we had to wait at the pick up area for our disassembled drawer. While waiting, we had to endure the delicious aroma of the Ikea food as the Ikea restaurant is just beside the pick up area. Talk about smart marketing.

N and I got excited to assemble the dresser (well and to avoid the $79 fee for assembly). But I was not aware that it takes a lot of time.
During my first trip. Yeah, I act like a hardcore tourist.
First, we had to carry the heavy pieces, figure out the manual with very minimal text and to finally turn those pieces into the dresser we saw earlier. We even made a tiny error as the manual requires AWESOME spacial skills! Or at least can differentiate left from right.
We started around 5 p.m. and ended around 7 p.m.! Yes, it took us 2 hours to build a dresser.

But we're proud to say that it was made with love. <3 (And a whole lot of effort!)
