Birthday Breakfast at 7AM

My mom has been bugging me to join her eat out for breakfast for quite some time now and I actually failed to make her “dream” come true during Mother’s Day simply because I was still so sore from the CS Manila Scramble that literally messed up my muscles and turned my skin red! But since her birthday wasn’t far off from the day of moms, we decided to have breakfast at Café France on her special day.

Yawn! We all woke up at 5 a.m. to have ample time to prepare for breakfast. They all had to adjust to my time as I was the lone person who had to head back at 9 a.m. since I have work.
We arrived at the Greenhills branch of Café France around 7:00 a.m. and ordered some breakfast trays—Breakfast Deluxe (PHP260) for my mom and grandmother, a half Premiere Club Sandwich for my sister, and a Crispy Bacon and Egg tray (PHP250) for me. For the breakfast trays, we have an option to change brewed coffee to hot chocolate and since coffee makes me sleepy, I opted for hot chocolate.

I was still very sleepy then till the server placed the breakfast trays on our table. The plating was wonderful. It was like it was lifted from a food magazine. It was so homey, warm, and just so… breakfast in bed without the bed style (now I know what I want for my birthday next year… fine one of the things I want!).

Wooden trays, a little flower to brighten things up, a basket to hold the croissant, pretty!

Taste-wise, the dishes were nothing outstanding. The ham tastes typical, same goes for the bacon which was not as crispy as I thought. The eggs though were delightful. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and the sunny side up was so good that I finished both! The croissant was soft but so messy to eat though.

I wasn’t able to take a photo of my sister’s sandwich as I couldn’t mess with her in the morning if I value my life. But I assume that it was good as a complainer like her did not utter a single word about her sandwich. She did take my little glass of juice though which she said tasted like Minute Maid.

Overall, the food wasn’t extraordinary but the experience of eating breakfast off a cute tray was refreshing. I never thought that eating bacon, eggs, and bread would be so… luxurious. :)
