Happyfoods Group of Restaurants recently introduced its newest food concept, Samsam Chikin, two weeks ago. And it was nothing short of GREAT.
With its recipes developed by the award-winning restaurateur, Mr. Sung Rah of Sariwon Korean Barbecue, Soban K-Town Grill, and Sibyullee Unlimited Korean BBQ expect rich and bold flavors in every bite.
Samsam Chikin currently offers five mouthwatering flavors for its boneless fried chicken -- Soy Garlic, Honey Butter, Honey Soy, Gochujang, and Yangnyeom. It is available in three sizes -- medium (PHP300), large (PHP435), and extra-large (PHP570). It is also available in half/half for those who cannot decide on which flavors to choose. There are also options for one and two-piece chicken meals for PHP99 and PHP165, respectively.
I am so in love with Samsam's Soy Garlic which is generously topped with crispy garlic chips. I love the contrast between the sweet glaze and the crunchy garlic.
Honey Soy is perfect for those who love sweet dishes, an instant hit with kids!
And if you love the popular Korean flavor Honey Butter, you'll enjoy Samsam's chicken version. The harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and buttery flavors will make you grab more than just one piece!
Gochujang and Yangnyeom are for those who want spice in their chikin!
Both made with gochujang (Korean chili paste), yangnyeom is described to be a bit milder and sweeter. But for some reason, I found it spicier than Gochujang.
Don't forget to grab chikin-mu or kimchi to complete the Samsam Chikin experience! (Soju's also available, but I'm still breastfeeding, so I'll pass.)
